History

The Evansville Women’s City Golf Tournament was started in 1975 by Courier Sports Editor, Bill Fluty and his wife Bridget. The tournament was originally called The Courier Women’s City Tournament, and its first tournament director was Ron Reiner, Helfrich Golf Course Pro.

For the past 50 years, our community’s top female golfers have competed in this prestigious tournament, where all play is conducted under the USGA and R&A Rules of Golf. A volunteer committee of women coordinate and manage the Women’s City Tournament each year.
